Why we exist

For many youth, the world ends at their neighborhood border.

International travel is a proven catalyst for leadership, independence, and global citizenship — yet it remains a privilege reserved for a few.

Show Me The World bridges this gap. We provide fully funded international travel experiences to low-income students who have never had the chance to cross borders, opening up a lifetime of possibilities.

Origin story

It started with a question.

A child holding an open atlas, dreaming of distant places

During a school exchange program, students from Vashon High School swapped places with students from Clayton High School to see what life was like in a different community.

While walking the hallways of Clayton High, a Vashon student stopped in front of a bulletin board. It was covered in photos and flyers for upcoming international school trips.

The student turned to their teacher, Ms. Samantha, and asked a simple, heavy question:

“
How come we don't have that?

— A Vashon student, to Ms. Samantha

That single question changed everything.

It exposed a massive gap in who gets to see the world — and who gets left behind.

Ms. Samantha and her team couldn't find a good answer to that student's question. So they decided to build one.

Show Me The World was born that day, to ensure that financial status never dictates the size of a child's horizon.

Help us answer that question — for the next student.

Every contribution funds passports, plane tickets, and a first glimpse of a wider world.
